Argentina innovating and technology

Wow! Argentina discovered that substances in the impotence drug Viagra can also treat sleeping disorders! I never knew that! I guess people who need to get sleep desperately can take viagara. Well it looks like women need to take that, too... besides old men and not sexually active men.... *ew*.


They found this... uh... amazing dicovery (i think you can call it that, I guess) in May of 2007. It was published in the U.S. journal "Procedings of the National Academy of Science". They said that the main compound (which I don't know what it is) can help people with slepping disorders.

In Argentina, which designates fewer resources for science and technology than its neighbour, there were four patents per million people in that same period -- the highest rate in Latin America. Mexico had the same yearly rate as Brazil of one patent per million inhabitants.(got from the internet)


The from 0.3 percent GDP in 2003 to 0.6 percent in 2006, and the goal is to reach one percent of GDP by 2010. Argentine Ministry of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation was created in December. (ditto)

Pretty much, Argentina's technology is improving.

Argentina in the Cold War

One of the countries that were in the Cold War was Argentina. For some reason, it includes their nuclear sector.
I don't understand why, though. But Argentina came out to be the nost important area of technological advacement in the Cold War.
